The MSM Associate Network comprises of a growing number of esteemed international education professionals who conduct workshops, webinars and undertake consulting services for MSM clients as MSM Associates.
With many years experience at the University of British Columbia and Capilano University in Vancouver Canada, Catherine has developed mobility programs for graduate and undergraduate students, as well as travel programs for members of faculty. In addition to various directorships Catherine was Dean of Business and then Vice President International Programs until she retired from Cap. She continues to work with institutions on internationalization. Active with BCCIE, CBIE, NAFSA and EAIE she has received institutional awards for excellence in teaching, program innovation and student service as well as provincial and national awards for internationalization leadership. In 2017 she was awarded a PhD Honoris Causa from Pecs University in Hungary as part of their 650th year anniversary celebration for her internationalization work.
Working in the areas of higher education and intergovernmental relations for over 30 years, John brings his unique understanding of strategic planning, and policy development and implementation to his work in advancing knowledge and opportunity through innovative partnerships and student mobility in international education related activities.
John played an active role in the development and promotion of Ontario’s international postsecondary education strategy working closely and consulting with colleges and universities on issues affecting international education in Ontario. He represented Ontario on the Federal-Provincial/Territorial Consultative Committee on Education Related International Activity at the Council of Minister of Education, Canada and co-chaired the Federal-Provincial/Territorial Canada Brand Working Group from 2011-2014.
Prashant Srivastava first came to Canada as an international student where he earned a post degree diploma from Malaspina University-College (Canada), Prashant continued his studies earning a Masters degree in Business Administration (University of Hertfordshire, UK) in 2003. After graduation, Prashant was immediately retained by Vancouver Island University. He followed his Director to University California Riverside, later returning to Canada at Seneca College where he is now the Associate Director, Business Development and Partnerships. With permission from Seneca and during his vacation time, Prashant also provides non-competitive client support as a member of the MSM Associate Network.
Prashant’s experience in the international education sector is broad. His first-hand experience emphasized his awareness of the differences between Canada and India based education systems. He was able to utilize this experience when acting as a student recruiter, in admissions advising, and as he worked more closely with faculty in the area of program and partnership development.
Prashant is passionate about supporting the transition of students from India to becoming successful Canadian students by sharing his knowledge of the India education system; the culture of India students; and providing tips for faculty on approaches for working with students from India.
Aziz Boussofiane is an international education career professional with two decades of extensive experience in senior leadership and a track record in international education in the UK Higher Education sector. Aziz has had a strategic focus on transnational education and setting up and managing university franchise operations. He has extensive experience in setting up legal arrangements, due diligence and approval mechanisms of international collaborative provisions. Aziz’s has an excellent record for developing a variety of international collaborative models, including franchise partnerships, dual awards and supported distance learning arrangements. He also has significant experience setting up monitoring mechanisms to ensure continued financial viability of collaborative activities and for managing reputational and financial risks. With significant experience working in international education contexts, including Canada, Europe, the Caribbean South East Asia, South Asia and China. Aziz has an in-depth knowledge of international education markets and wide-ranging experience of working with overseas institutions and overseas regulatory bodies. He is known within the sector as an excellent leader of academic and administrative teams.
