HERE’S HOW INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CAN BRING THE HOLIDAY CHEER ON

Go on a solo trip

During the holiday break, a lot of local attractions are just waiting to be found and discovered. Discover more about how your host country celebrates by taking a trip through a town you haven’t visited yet. It is both exciting and fulfilling, especially if you’re the adventurous and spontaneous type.

Develop a new hobby or skill

Since schools are on break, it’s a great time to do something productive. If you don’t want to hibernate during this season, take ample time to learn a new skill, like crocheting, cooking, or playing a musical instrument. Try to develop a new hobby like photography, singing, or dancing. This season can be celebrated in more ways than one – you just need to think outside of the box.

Host a picnic with your friends

There is no better way to bring people together than with food, so plan a simple picnic with your friends and enjoy the holidays together. If you have friends coming from the same country, get together and celebrate it like how you do it at home. If you are dealing with various nationalities, you can also get together and discover something new about each other’s customs and traditions.

Take a rest

There is nothing more important than your own sanity, calm, and well-being. Oftentimes, school can be demanding, so the holidays can also be a good time for you to rejuvenate and take a breather. This is a time to reflect and center yourself as you prep for another semester or term of study.

These are just some of the ways on how you can celebrate the holidays even if you are away from your loved ones. The holiday season is a good reminder that no matter where you are or who you are with, love, kindness, and generosity can still be seen and felt – all you need to do is look around you and do something.
