The Role

The Chief Growth Officer (CGO) will lead our business development efforts, focusing on a dynamic
scaling up of our current business operations and revenue generation, while playing a key role in new
worldwide business innovation and strategy. The CGO will create and mould an industry-leading team
of business development and sales professionals. The CGO will serve as a key part of the MSM
executive.

 

The ideal CGO will join us with an understanding of the role’s government, stakeholder and partnership
play in business development strategy, and will work with our Finance and Government Relations teams
to lead us in sustainable and strategic growth planning. MSM’s CGO will be responsible for creating and
coaching a top-notch and successful revenue sales team to achieve short and long-term business goals,
leading to expanded reach and mission-aligned impact.

 

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Vision
    • Co-design MSM’s vision for growth (of business and impact), with CEO and Leadership Team;
      owning the evolution and activation of vision
    • Develop and lead our revenue generation and business development strategy and efforts
    • Create strategic growth plans and financial roadmaps
    • Key thought-partner to CEO and member of Leadership Team on company oversight
  • Making Big Things Happen
    • Measure and analyze current revenue streams, offerings, and relationships to optimize our
      business growth and revenue strategy to realize exponential business growth from double digit-M to 500M
    • Identify innovative ways to scale up and grow business, impact, platforms, and partnerships
    • Be a lead individual contributor on revenue generation
    • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, partners and clients
    • Assist in Government Relations strategies
    • Player-coach example setting of best practices in innovative and impactful growth across full
      team at MSM
    • Monitor sales and push the business development team leads to achieve revenue and
      profitability objectives.

    • Lead, inspire and develop MSM’s business development team
    • Set and ensure achievement of goals and highest standard of performance

    • Attract, coach, and retain top talent while building a performance-driven culture
  • Requirements:
    • 10+ years of proven experience leading business growth – ideally in complex professional
      services and/or start-up environment
    • Experience in tech sector a benefit
    • Proven success scaling a high-growth company or business unit
    • Familiarity (and training) selling across a portfolio of complex services (e.g., integrated
      campaigns)
    • Ability to execute on and motivate a team around growth and sales targets
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills
    • Experience working cross-functionally with different platforms to create a cohesive growth plan
    • Results-oriented – holds themselves accountable for short- and long-term success
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Strong background of operational and financial rigour and excellence
