The Role

MSM is looking for a qualified, organized, passionate, and committed professional as the Head – Budgeting & Revenue Assurance in Ahmedabad for the MSM team. Reporting to the CFO, the Head – Budgeting & Revenue Assurance is a key team member of the finance team and works closely with internal and external stakeholders globally and will be supporting Financial Planning and Analysis for multiple business verticals of MSM, with a focused scope for consolidation of plans and forecasts. The role holder will be providing senior management the necessary financial reporting and analysis and also help with data driven intelligence for businesses to make key decisions.


What You’ll Do


  • Lead the process of preparation of budgets for the period
  • Receive budget estimates from all the departments of the organization and critically examine them for accuracy and completeness as well as conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives
  • Design effective budget models for departments and the entire company
  • Ensure accountability for timely and accurate reporting of budgets for all verticals of the business including forecasting, capital budgets, and cash flows to ensure they meet future needs
  • Prepare the business plan for five years and make necessary updates of the plan according to any material changes in the business or regulations which may affect forecasts
  • Participate in regular Forecasting cycles to arrive at business impacts and areas of savings
  • Provide annual and monthly reporting packages to management, including variances and commentaries at the end of each reporting period.
  • Prepare high level dashboard and presentation using latest technologies and ensuring quality and accuracy of reports for senior management
  • Suggest spending improvements that increase profits
  • Ensure department managers meet budget submission deadlines
  • Lead the discussion with senior management and the rest of the team to ensure effective and optimum usage of budgeted funds.
  • Review the company’s budget for compliance with legal regulations in consultation with compliance team
  • Design and implement effective budgeting policies and procedures
  • Analyse financial information (e.g. revenues, expenditures and cash management) to ensure all operations are within budget
  • Review budget requests for approval
  • Analyse actual results to understand variances, revise forecasts as appropriate
  • Monitor the budget with respect to expenditures and adopting appropriate steps for managing the allocated budget and spending control, implementing internal controls wherever needed
  • Develop strategic and executive level reporting related to budgeting, forecasting, P&L, cash and balance sheet positioning

Revenue Assurance

  • Analyse current pricing strategy and support in developing the future pricing strategy through market & competition analysis
  • Perform strong and regular revenue stream analysis
  • Focus on identification and prevention of issues impacting revenue leakage
  • Monitor revenue for timely realization and minimising leakage
  • Develop the dashboard mechanism to ensure revenue leakages are identified and minimised apart from regular reporting for the same
  • Participate in business process changes that may affect the company’s ability to identify, monitor or collect revenue
  • Continuously work to understand and mitigate losses to ensure the highest levels of revenue recognition
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of industry trends relative to revenue assurance practices. Promote quality assurance for all processes impacting revenue.
  • Partner with the Marketing Department to design, develop and implement best practices to minimize revenue leakage and develop the new pricing strategy as and when required
  • Understand and aggregate revenue assurance activities across the business and ensure they are working effectively
  • Analyse data/reports to identify opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Create executive level reporting with 100% accuracy and advanced level presentation
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis, sensitivity analysis, industry analysis, what-if analysis to understand the financial impacts of various operational decisions
  • Business and financial strategy planning including analysis and recommendations for improving margin, ROI, cost controls and profitability analysis
  • Analyse operational data, draws conclusions and presents recommendations on decisions and actions
  • Perform walkthrough, build the risk and control matrix, assess new risks and help test the controls on a regular basis for revenue leakages
  • Develop spreadsheet models for various business parameters including financial, pricing, commercials, contracts, bookings, reporting’s, etc
  • Manage extremely time sensitive deliverables with accuracy
  • Ensure that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness

Who We’re Looking For:

  • CA or MBA in Finance
  • 8 to 12 years of work experience in a similar role
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Experience using financial software
  • Must have excellent knowledge of Excel spreadsheet modelling
  • Expert level knowledge of financial reporting tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with senior management
  • Ability to organize, multitask and manage time
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Ability to work in an aggressive and fast-moving environment where key objectives need to be met on pre-agreed timescales
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Exceptional professional presence and business acumen
