MSM LIVE! Expert Interact: The American Presidential Election 2020 and the Future of Higher Education

Join us as leading higher education experts discuss the forthcoming elections and the future that the new administration will hold for higher education and the international students who study or wish to go to US colleges and universities.

The United States remains the no. 1 study destination for international students worldwide.

However, this position is threatened by several factors, foremost of which is government policy. Some experts even outrightly point to a leadership crisis affecting the quality of higher education in the country and its appeal to international students.

The Trump administration has made changes to the immigration system more than any other US president. International student numbers in America have dropped for three years straight since 2016, when Pres. Donald Trump first assumed office. The number of student visas issued is on the downtrend, and new proposals hound the time that international students are allowed to stay in the US, as well as the Optional Practical Training they can get after graduation.

What are the immediate and long-term impacts of the results of the November election on higher education and the country’s leadership in the international education market?

How can colleges and universities support students after the election?

How do we pick up the pieces in the wake of the deep political polarization and lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic?

We discuss the hard questions and more with the experts in this MSM Live! webinar, brought to you by M Square Media (MSM), a leading service provider that builds global and in-country offices for higher education institutions in the US, Canada, UK, and other leading destination countries.

This MSM Live! webinar features speakers Dr. Deborah Freund, President Emerita at Claremont Graduate University, and Fred Siegel, Former Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management, George Washington University. It will be moderated by Dr. Alex Parnia, MSM USA President.
