COVID Message from the CEO - April 2020
In the face of this unprecedented challenge, MSM is staying true to its commitment of making international education accessible to all.
The coronavirus or COVID-19 crisis has led to never-before-seen lockdowns and travel restrictions that have sent students home or kept them stranded in their host countries, as well as halted all on-ground agent summits and industry conferences.
Cognizant of our global network and extensive footprint in the #intled industry, we have implemented these measures as utmost priority since early March:
- Vigilantly monitor the news and everyday situation, from North America to the Indian Subcontinent where we conduct business and maintain strong relationships. We are in close contact with partner institutions, affiliate agents, and relevant authorities, where we have fielded phone meetings to High Commissions and education agencies for clarity in aspects such as student deferrals, refund process, repatriation, and visa extension matters. We continue to assess every individual event based on the available facts and official government guidance.
- Keep people’s safety and well-being as our utmost priority. We regularly check with our partner institutions, considering their feelings and feedback in our decision-making. We put out constant communications to partners, agents, staff, and colleagues to #StayHome and do our own share in flattening the curve.
- Stay in touch with everyone. It’s definitely not a time to look for silver linings, as coronavirus death tolls remain on the rise. But in our bid to keep the business alive on behalf of its 250+ people around the world (and inspire the organization to stay energized and at their best while on community quarantine), we devise ways to stay connected. We have initiated daily Coffee/Tea Time Connect sessions among staffers, as well as launched MSM Live! as our banner initiative in the webinar and online event landscape. We are optimistic that our efforts – from promoting regular check-ins to launching virtual summits and institutions’ foray into e-learning – will make a meaningful difference as people stay home.
In recognition of the uncertainty and widespread disruption caused by COVID-19, we have taken all MSM events in the next two months to the online platform via MSM Live! – and resolve to make these live virtual events an ongoing solution for our community in need of up-to-date, trustworthy expert information.
Not everyone is free of difficulties at this time. But please do NOT feel alone, as our globally positioned teams remain at your disposal for any help or assistance you might need. Please reach out toor contact your designated MSM Manager for prompt advice. Crisis or not, we value questions, new ideas, and feedback.
As we go forward as #OneMSM, we thank you for your continuing support and trust. We look forward to seeing this crisis end and resuming the wonderful work we all do for international education.
In the meantime, please stay in good health.
CEO and Founder, MSM
